This large solid brass Armillary Sphere Sundial is perfect for a garden sundial or interior home decoration.
The Armillary Sphere Sundial is one of the most accurate sundials ever made, and can easily be set to read local time based on the
position of the sun.
The Armillary Sphere's arrow points polar North and the gnomon casts a shadow onto the equatorial band
which is cast with raised Roman numerals to indicate the local time.
This allows a linear 15 degree per hour scale.
The massive sundial is beautifully decorated with sun and moon symbols and is supported by an adjustable
clamp which can be set to your local latitude.
The brass has a green verde patina with polished highlights.
The heavy solid brass base is mounted on turned solid hardwood, and the bottom
is covered with felt.
The Armillary Sphere is large and heavy, measuring 16 1/2 inches (42 cm) tall,
the equatorial band is 13 inches (33 cm) in diameter, and the sundial weighs 7.8 pounds (3.5 kg).
